Part 1 — Terms and Conditions
Rules governing your use of the BoholCraft platform as a Customer or Rider.
📌 Section 1 — General Terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of the BoholCraft platform, including its web system and the BoholCraftRider mobile application (collectively, the "Platform"). By creating an account, registering as a rider, or using any part of the Platform, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
BoholCraft is an e-commerce platform developed to connect customers with local artisans and handicraft sellers in Bohol, Philippines. The Platform also manages pickup and delivery of orders through registered delivery riders.
These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including:
- Customers – registered users who browse, purchase, and request returns for products.
- Riders – registered users who handle pickup and delivery of orders via the BoholCraftRider mobile app.
- Sellers – verified artisans and shop owners who list and sell handcrafted products.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform.
BoholCraft reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of material changes through the platform, and continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
By using the Platform, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
🛒 Section 2 — Customer Responsibilities
CUSTOMER
As a customer of BoholCraft, you agree to the following:
- Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date personal information during registration and checkout, including your name, address, and contact number.
- Use the Platform solely for lawful personal purposes — not for resale or commercial redistribution of products without proper authorization.
- Ensure that your delivery address is accurate and accessible. BoholCraft is not liable for delivery failures caused by incorrect or inaccessible addresses.
- Receive your order in good faith. Inspect the package upon receipt and report any damage or discrepancy within the allowable return window.
- Provide valid, clear, and honest proof when submitting a return or refund request. Fabricated or misleading claims may result in account suspension.
- Make payments using approved methods only (e.g., GCash). Any payment disputes must be reported promptly through proper channels.
- Treat sellers, riders, and platform administrators with respect in all communications.
- Not attempt to exploit, manipulate, or deceive the Platform's order, payment, or return/refund systems.
🏍️ Section 3 — Rider Responsibilities
RIDER
As a registered rider on BoholCraftRider, you agree to the following:
- Provide accurate registration information, including your full name, contact number, valid government-issued ID, driver's license number, and vehicle information.
- Maintain the validity of your submitted documents throughout your active period on the Platform.
- Accept assigned deliveries in a timely manner and complete them within the expected delivery timeframe.
- Handle all packages with care. Damaged goods caused by negligent handling are the rider's responsibility.
- Upload a clear, unaltered photo as proof of delivery once an order has been successfully handed to the customer. Delivery proof must show the package and, where possible, confirmation of receipt.
- For return orders, you are responsible for: picking up the item from the customer, delivering it to the seller for inspection, and uploading inspection proof as instructed.
- Treat customers and sellers professionally at all times.
- Not attempt to manipulate earnings, withdrawal records, or delivery proof submissions.
- Comply with all applicable traffic laws and local regulations while performing deliveries.
💳 Section 4 — Orders and Payments
All orders placed through the Platform are subject to availability and seller confirmation. BoholCraft does not guarantee that items will always be in stock.
CUSTOMER
- Payments are processed via GCash or other approved payment methods available at checkout.
- Once an order is placed and payment is confirmed, the order transitions through the following statuses: Pending → Confirmed → Preparing → Out for Delivery → Delivered → Order Completed.
- Customers may cancel an order only while it is in Pending status. Once confirmed or being prepared, cancellation is not allowed.
- A delivery fee is added to each order and is non-refundable unless the order was cancelled before assignment to a rider.
- The customer's payment is released to the seller only after the order has been marked as "Order Completed."
RIDER
- Riders earn a delivery fee per completed order. Earnings are accumulated and available for withdrawal through the BoholCraftRider app.
- Withdrawal requests are subject to availability of the minimum withdrawable balance and platform processing times.
- Riders must use the in-app withdrawal system. Direct collection of delivery fees from customers is strictly prohibited.
↩️ Section 5 — Return and Refund Policy
CUSTOMER
- Customers may submit a return/refund request within 5 calendar days after an order has been marked as "Order Completed."
- A valid return request must include:
- A clear description of the reason for return (e.g., damaged, wrong item, defective).
- One or more photos as proof of the issue.
- A valid GCash account number for refund processing.
- Return requests submitted after the 5-day window will be automatically rejected.
- The seller will inspect the returned item and decide whether to issue a refund or a replacement.
- Refunds are transferred to the customer's GCash account within the platform's processing period.
RIDER
- When assigned to a return order, the rider is responsible for picking up the item from the customer and delivering it to the seller for inspection.
- Riders must upload photographic proof of pickup from the customer and delivery to the seller.
- Any mishandling of return items that results in further damage to the product may affect the rider's standing on the platform.
📦 Section 6 — Delivery Process
BoholCraft uses a distance-based auto-assignment system to assign available riders to confirmed orders. The system selects the nearest available verified rider.
RIDER ORDER FLOW
- Rider receives a delivery notification in the BoholCraftRider app.
- Rider accepts the delivery task.
- Rider picks up the order from the seller.
- Rider delivers the order to the customer's address.
- Rider uploads a delivery proof photo in the app.
- Order status is updated to "Delivered." The customer can then confirm completion.
CUSTOMER DELIVERY EXPECTATIONS
- Delivery timelines depend on rider availability and distance. BoholCraft provides estimated delivery ranges but cannot guarantee exact delivery times.
- If no rider accepts the order within a set time, the system may auto-reassign or escalate to an admin.
- Customers can track their order status in real time through the web system.
🚫 Section 7 — Prohibited Activities
All users are strictly prohibited from engaging in the following on the BoholCraft Platform:
- Creating multiple accounts to exploit promotions, bonuses, or platform features.
- Uploading fake delivery or return proof images.
- Attempting to bypass, hack, or interfere with the Platform's security systems.
- Engaging in fraud, deception, or misrepresentation in any transaction.
- Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users (customers, riders, sellers, or administrators).
- Posting or sharing inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content through the Platform's messaging or review system.
- Using the Platform to conduct unauthorized commercial activities or money laundering.
- Reverse-engineering, copying, or distributing any part of the Platform's software without permission.
⚖️ Section 8 — Limitation of Liability
BoholCraft provides the Platform on an "as is" basis. While we strive to maintain a reliable and secure service, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
- BoholCraft is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Platform.
- BoholCraft is not responsible for the quality, accuracy, or legality of products listed by sellers.
- BoholCraft is not liable for delivery delays caused by force majeure events, including but not limited to natural disasters, accidents, or network failures.
- Riders are independent contractors, not employees of BoholCraft. BoholCraft is not liable for accidents or incidents occurring during rider operations.
- Customer refunds are processed in good faith based on the submitted return evidence and seller decision. BoholCraft's role in disputes is to facilitate, not adjudicate.
🔒 Section 9 — Account Suspension
BoholCraft reserves the right to suspend or permanently ban any user account that violates these Terms, engages in fraudulent behavior, or poses a risk to other users or the integrity of the Platform.
Grounds for suspension include but are not limited to:
- Multiple verified reports of misconduct or fraud.
- Submission of false documentation or proof images.
- Manipulation of earnings, order statuses, or platform records.
- Violation of the Prohibited Activities listed in Section 7.
- Inactivity combined with incomplete verification (for riders).
- Suspended users will be notified via email.
- Riders who are suspended during an active delivery will be reassigned by the system.
- Appeals may be submitted to the BoholCraft administration for review. BoholCraft's decision on account status is final.
Part 2 — Privacy Policy
How BoholCraft collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information.
📋 Section 1 — Information We Collect
When you use BoholCraft, we collect personal information necessary to operate the Platform effectively and fulfill our service obligations.
FROM CUSTOMERS
- Full name, email address, contact number, and date of birth.
- Shipping address (municipality, barangay, street, postal code).
- GCash account number (provided only when submitting a return/refund request).
- Order history, review content, and cart data.
- Device and browser information for session management.
FROM RIDERS
- Full name, email, contact number, birthday, and gender.
- Home address in Bohol (municipality, barangay, street, postal code).
- Driver's license number and vehicle type/plate number.
- Government-issued ID images submitted for verification.
- Proof of delivery and return photos uploaded through the app.
- Earnings and withdrawal records.
- Location data (when actively processing a delivery, with prior consent).
🔍 Section 2 — How We Use Your Data
The personal information we collect is used strictly for the following purposes:
- Account Management: To create and maintain your account, verify your identity, and authenticate your sessions.
- Order Processing: To facilitate product orders, coordinate deliveries, and update order statuses.
- Delivery Operations: To assign riders, track deliveries, and store delivery proof records.
- Return & Refund Processing: To evaluate return requests, coordinate with riders and sellers, and issue GCash refunds.
- Communication: To send order notifications, email verifications, and system alerts.
- Safety & Compliance: To detect fraud, prevent unauthorized access, and enforce platform rules.
- Platform Improvement: To analyze usage patterns (in aggregate, non-identifiable form) and improve services.
🔄 Section 3 — Data Sharing Between Users
To facilitate the delivery and return process, certain information must be shared between platform roles.
WHAT CUSTOMERS SHARE WITH RIDERS
- Delivery address (municipality, barangay, street).
- Contact number (so the rider can coordinate the handover).
- First name (for identification at the door).
WHAT RIDERS SHARE WITH CUSTOMERS
- Rider's first name and contact number (provided in the order tracking screen).
- Delivery proof photo (visible to both the customer and admin after delivery).
🛒 Section 4 — Customer Data
For customers of the BoholCraft web platform, we specifically handle the following:
- Your personal profile data (name, email, birthday, address, contact) is stored securely in our database and used only for your account and orders.
- Your GCash number is collected only when you file a return/refund request and is shared only with the Platform's administrators for refund processing. It is not stored permanently beyond the refund record.
- Your return proof images (photos of defective or incorrect items) are stored securely and accessible only to administrators and the relevant seller.
- Your order and payment history is retained for at least 12 months for record-keeping and dispute resolution purposes.
🏍️ Section 5 — Rider Data
For riders using the BoholCraftRider Android application, we handle the following:
- Your registration data (name, email, contact, address, birthday, gender) is stored in our database and used for account management and delivery coordination.
- Your verification documents (Valid ID images, driver's license number) are stored securely and reviewed only by authorized administrators for verification purposes.
- Your delivery and return proof photos are stored as evidence records accessible to platform administrators and, where applicable, the customer or seller involved in the transaction.
- Your earnings and withdrawal data are stored for financial record-keeping and rider payout processing.
- Location data, if used, is accessed only during active deliveries and is not stored permanently after the delivery is completed.
🛡️ Section 6 — Data Protection
BoholCraft takes data security seriously and implements industry-standard measures to protect your personal information:
- Encrypted Passwords: All user passwords are securely hashed — we never store plain-text passwords.
- Session Security: User sessions are managed securely. Inactive sessions are automatically terminated.
- Access Controls: Platform features are role-restricted. Only authorized users and administrators can access sensitive data.
- Secure File Storage: Uploaded images (proof, IDs, profile photos) are stored in protected directories not directly accessible from the public web.
- Database Security: Database connections use parameterized queries to prevent SQL injection attacks.
✅ Section 7 — Your Rights
You have the following rights with respect to your personal data on BoholCraft:
- Right to Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Correction: You may update your personal information through your account profile or settings page.
- Right to Deletion: You may submit a deletion request. Account deletion requests are subject to review and will be processed within a reasonable period. Note that transaction records may be retained for legal compliance purposes.
- Right to Object: You may object to certain types of data processing, such as non-essential communications.
- Right to Data Portability: Where technically feasible, you may request an export of your personally identifiable information.
To exercise your rights, you may submit a request via the platform's admin contact channels or email.
📷 Section 8 — Use of Images
BoholCraft collects and stores images submitted by users in the following contexts:
CUSTOMER IMAGES
- Return Proof Photos: Uploaded during a return request to document product defects or incorrect items. These images are visible to the platform administrator and the relevant seller only.
- Profile Photos: Optional. Stored securely and displayed only within your account profile page.
RIDER IMAGES
- Delivery Proof Photos: Required after each delivery. Stored as a permanent delivery record accessible to platform administrators, the customer, and the seller.
- Return Pickup & Seller Proof Photos: Uploaded during return order tasks. Accessible to administrators, the customer, and the seller involved.
- Seller Inspection Proof Photos: Taken by the seller during product inspection. Stored and visible to the platform administrator and the customer who requested the return.
- Verification Document Photos: Submitted during registration. Accessed only by authorized administrators for verification review. Not shared with other users.
- Profile Photos: Displayed within the rider app profile page.
🔄 Section 9 — Policy Updates
BoholCraft may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or platform features.
- Material changes to this Privacy Policy will be communicated to users via in-platform notifications or email.
- The effective date at the top of this document will be updated with each revision.
- Continued use of the Platform after any policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
- If you disagree with a policy update, you may request account deletion and discontinue use of the Platform.
